The cultural practice of dancing
with fire is an ancient Polynesian tradition known
as “Poi."
One Grand Junction-based group
called “Burning
Desert Fire Collective” is keeping the spirit
of Poi alive through their artistic fire performances.
Members
of the group are also passing the torch through education
and instruction of Poi.
News Channel Five’s
Michele Fralick caught up with members of the fire
and dance group for a lesson of her own.
